My husband is descended thru Artie Mae Hile (her father apparently changed
the name from Hiles to Hile after he went to CA in 1904 or so).
I have a copy of the Census Microfilm Records: Kentucky 1850, and it shows
several Hiles/Hile families for that time period. Please let me know if you
are researching anyone in these lines or in KY in that time period, and I
will be glad to look them up for you.

Edna Miller
Edna E. Miller, age 91, of Boyceville died Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, at Red Cedar Medical Center in Menomonie.
The former Edna Elaine Zepplin was born July 19, 1917, in Stratford to John and Edna (Baker) Zepplin. She graduated from McKinley High School in Marshfield. Before her marriage, Edna worked at Broadbents Cafe in Barron. Edna married Herbert Miller on July 6, 1937, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in the town of Prairie Farm, Barron County. During World War II, while Herbert was serving in the U.S. Navy, Edna rented rooms in their home in Ridgeland for room and board. In 1947, they purchased a store in Connorsville, Miller's General Store, which they operated until 1974. They then moved to Menomonie, and Edna worked at the American Lutheran Home and provided in-home care, retiring in 1990. After being members of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in the town of Prairie Farm, they were later members of Grace Lutheran Church in Connorsville, Christ Lutheran Church in Menomonie and Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyceville. She also taught Sunday school for many years. She was a charter member of Johnson-Whistler American Legion Post 323 Auxiliary in Connorsville. Edna loved to sew, cook and crochet. She made many beautiful afghans for family members and for various raffles. Edna loved her family and will be sadly missed.
Edna is survived by her sons, John (Alice) Miller of Madison, David (Marilyn) Miller of Connorsville; her daughter, Marjorie Miller (Howell Peiser) of Nashville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Roxanne (Kirk) Robinson of Monona, Wis., Kevin (Kathy) Miller of McFarland, Wis. (currently serving in Afghanistan), Allen Miller of Fort Collins, Colo., Dennis (Carla) Miller of Waukesha, Wis., Michele (Albert) Kelly of Boyceville, Teresa (Jeff) Cline of Forest; great-grandchildren, Megan Robinson, Samuel Miller, Matthew Miller, Andrew Miller, Alex Miller, Joshua (Amanda) Tireman, Robert (Ruth) Kelly, Zackary Kelly, Samantha Kelly, Amber Kelly, Nicholas (Amber) Samens, Kyle Samens, Noah Cline and Jonah Cline. Edna is further survived by a brother, James (Peg) Zepplin; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Zepplin of Marshfield and Ruth Zepplin of Loyal; many nieces and nephews; and a great number of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Edna Zepplin; her husband, Herbert; sisters, Ruth Birge, Virginia Budahn; brothers, Jack Zepplin and Byron Zepplin; and a great-grandson, Dan Robinson.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyceville with Pastor Bradley Peterson officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in the town of Prairie Farm, Barron County.
Family and friends are welcome from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church on Friday one hour prior to the service.
